Not many are aware of this, but I consider myself a hopeless romantic... I derive joy from witnessing people happy and deeply in love. I'm not referring to the theatrical depiction of being "in love", but rather the authentic kind of love.
Now, don't misunderstand me, the initial stage of not being able to keep your hands off each other - that passion is truly wonderful!
Yet for me, it's the closeness that develops over time, built on respect and communication. It's that phase in a relationship where you can share everything openly without fear of judgment or betrayal. It's like having the greatest of friends in a romantic partner.
While I'm still searching for this in my own life, I am fortunate to witness my amazing friends flourish in such relationships!
This summer, I had the honor and privilege of photographing the wedding of some close friends of mine. I must confess, portrait photography is not my strong suit. I find capturing people incredibly challenging. Arranging everyone, ensuring they all look in the same direction, while still maintaining authenticity, requires considerable skill. The reality is, I'm still a novice at it all.
Despite this, my friends were insistent that I take the photos, alongside their nephew. Below, I've shared a few of these photos, with the approval of the bride and groom. They feature only the couple and some of the decorations.
